2:30 PM- 4:00 PM

Renowned garden artist and passionate environmental steward Keeyla Meadows sees the world in strong, saturated shades. She’ll bring this unique vision to life during a walking workshop in her garden, showing how to use wild, uninhibited color to turn a garden into a vibrant habitat and living work of art. Some of the same features that make plants attractive to gardeners also make them attractive to pollinators, so Keeyla’s design ideas unite art and environment. Learn how to pick colors that work together; coordinate the colors of walls, benches, containers, and garden art; use color to organize garden spaces and connect indoor and outdoor spaces; translate personal color preferences into tangible form in the garden; and select plants that attract pollinators throughout the growing season. Learn a new way of looking at color with "Keeyla's Color Triangle," easy-to use tips on growing edibles with pollinator-friendly companion plants in color-themed gardens, and Keeyla's favorite plants for specific colors. You will leave wanting to reinvent the staid rules of the color wheel and turn your color preferences into intoxicating retreats filled with a rich diversity of life.

With a master’s degree in sculpture from the University of California, Keeyla Meadows has been making vibrant gardens around the Bay Area for 40 years that successfully integrate rock work, benches, paving, fountains, and sculpture with the colors and textures of plants. Keeyla has written two garden books: Fearless Color Gardens (Timber Press, 2009) and Making Gardens Works of Art (Sasquatch Books, 2002).
